12 Days Rwanda Classic Wildlife and Primate safari

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by our driver guide for a short briefing about your safari. You will then be transferred to your hotel for relaxation after your journey. Dinner and overnight at Galaxy Hotel.

At 8:00 am After breakfast, enjoy a guided city tour of Kigali, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial to learn about Rwanda’s history. You will also explore key cultural and historical sites within the city. At 2:30 am After lunch, depart for Akagera National Park, enjoying scenic countryside views along the way. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Transit Lodge.

At 7:00 am After an early breakfast, embark on a morning game drive in Akagera National Park, where you may spot elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and a variety of bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch before continuing with game drive. In the late afternoon at 4:30 am, take a sunset boat cruise on Lake Ihema to see crocodiles, hippos, and water birds. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge.

After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive towards the northern part of the park, known for its rich wildlife sightings including giraffes and antelopes like topis. Lunch will be served at a scenic picnic site within the park. In the afternoon, proceed to Karenge Bush Camp. In the evening from 5:30 Pm until 8:00Pm, enjoy an exciting night game drive to spot nocturnal animals such as hyenas and possibly leopards. Dinner and overnight at Karenge Bush Camp.

Begin the day with a morning game drive and birdwatching experience in Akagera National Park back at the lodge at 9:00 for breakfast. After breakfast, exit the park and embark on a scenic transfer to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze. Enjoy views of Rwanda’s rolling hills along the way. Dinner and overnight at Fatima Hotel.

At 6:30 am after an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting your gorilla trekking adventure. Trek through the forest to meet one of the habituated gorilla families and spend one hour with them. In the afternoon, visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to learn about conservation efforts. Dinner and overnight at Fatima Hotel.

At 6:30 after breakfast, head for golden monkey trekking in the bamboo forests of Volcanoes National Park. After lunch, transfer to Gisenyi on the shores of Lake Kivu. In the late afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise exploring the islands and scenic surroundings. Dinner and overnight at Galaxy Kivu Hotel

At 8:00am after breakfast, drive to Kibuye (Karongi) for an immersive coffee experience, learning about coffee production from crop to cup. Enjoy lunch at Karongi before continuing your journey to Nyungwe National Park. Arrive in the evening for dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Top View Hotel.

At 6:30am After breakfast, enjoy a guided nature walk through Nyungwe Forest to visit the beautiful Ndambarare Waterfall. Return for lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, experience the famous canopy walk, a suspended bridge of 70m high and 200m long over the trees offering breathtaking views over the forest. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Top View Hotel.

Depart early in the morning at 5:00am for chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe Forest. Track these energetic primates in their natural habitat, an exciting and memorable experience. Return to the lodge for lunch. Spend the afternoon at leisure, relaxing and enjoying the serene forest environment at Hotel. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Top View Hotel.

At 7:00 am After breakfast, visit Gisakura Tea Estate for a tea processing experience, learning about tea cultivation and production. Continue your journey to the King’s Palace Museum to explore Rwanda’s traditional monarchy and culture, including the famous Inyambo cows. Proceed to Kigali in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Galaxy Hotel.

At 8:00am after breakfast, visit Nyandungu Eco Park for a guided nature walk and birdwatching experience. Enjoy lunch before exploring local craft markets and souvenir shops. Depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure
